Message by the President Elect, Indian Society Of Anaesthesiologists National

Dear ISAians,

Warm greetings to all of you!

It is indeed a very proud moment for me to write this message for the inaugural issue of Practical Evidence in Anaesthesia Knowledge (PEAK), which is the academic mouth-piece of the College of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists(CISA).

Our prestigious journal, the Indian Journal of Anaesthesia (IJA) is like the sacred banyan tree which has stood strong over the past years, has grown steadily in height (popularity and impact factor) and is spread over a wide area (indexing in various databases and sharing of published articles by citations and social media). PEAK can be compared to a new independent trunk of the aerial root of the IJA which is now growing in the sacred soil of CISA. CISA itself is a proud institution which has just taken birth with the efforts of the Governing Council of ISA and is the brain child of Dr MV Bhimeshwar, the past President of ISA National. PEAK will grow and further spread the light of research of anaesthesiologists of our nation far and wide.

PEAK has been brought to the fore keeping in mind the huge and increasing need for a robust national scientific platform for publication of original research articles, case reports and other categories of scientific articles related to our subject of anaesthesiology and written by practitioners and researchers from diverse areas and health care centres in our country. I am sure that PEAK by providing practical evidence in anaesthesia knowledge, will satisfy the clinical practitioners’ hunger for reliable practical information on which they can base their clinical decisions.

I heartily congratulate the Editor-in-Chief of PEAK, Dr Sukhminder Jit Singh Bajwa and the editorial team of PEAK for coming out with an excellent inaugural issue. Dr Bajwa is well-known for his strong publication background. PEAK as a baby journal is really lucky to have such an Editor-in-Chief who can nurture it carefully and make it grow strong with his wide and in-depth knowledge of scientific publications. The birth of PEAK has brought in academic joy to all of us and I wish PEAK the brightest future.
